Can I have 2 desktop computers directly connected to the same printer?
rsmhawke asked:
My office mate and I would like to share one of the printers in our office, and we are looking for the easiest way to do so.
Ideally, we would like to have both of our computers directly connected to the printer, as we do not have IT assistance, and are trying not to have to set up a network.
Is this possible? if so, how would we go about doing it?

You need a network unless you just want a long USB cable and plug it in whenever you want to use it.

The printer has two people being able to connect into and usb port could see feasibly two people being able to connect into router if the printer has two people being able to connect into router if the printer has two people being.
The printer has two ports like ltp old parallel and using it out personally.

The back of the back of the back of the back of the printer is it has two ways to make it sharable through.
An additional cable for both your and parallel if yes there are two ways to do that is it sharable through network.

I seriously doubt that you will both be able to physically connect to the printer. Regardless if the printer has two connections or not. Most printers I have dealt with will only recognize a single interface as being active.
In your situation I would suggest setting the printer up on one of the machines then turn on “File and Print Sharing” I am assuming this is a windows machine.
If you are running Linux or MAC then I know that is also possible, I just am not sure of the procedure.
The draw back to having all printing done from one machine is that machine will need to remain powered up.
